Reading Wise的系列共有三冊,幫助英文初級程度的學生學習英文閱讀技巧,
每冊有十二個單元。本書根據每個單元以亞洲民間故事為主題,設計了多樣的練習,
幫助學生參予並練習語言技巧,並透過故事的聽說讀寫練習活動,
學生可以增進英語溝通能力。

特色
˙詞彙預習 (Vocabulary Preview) 會顯示出關鍵字彙的同義字以及有助了解前後文的字義解釋。
˙語言重點 (Language Focus) 是為了培養學生理解單字在文章中段落裡的用法及語法結構。
˙看圖說故事 (Picture Story )是為了要訓練學生口語敘述故事及寫作能力。
˙對話 (Dialog) 幫助學生流利的敘述及發音。
˙總結 (Summary) 加強重點詞彙練習。
˙延伸練習(Expansion) 讓學生透過有創意的集體活動來練習語言技巧。

單元架構
˙Pre-Reading: 看完圖片之後,思考下面三道提示的問題並跟同伴分享答案。
˙Vocabulary Preview: 選出與單字意義相符的解釋。
˙Understanding the Key Ideas: 根據本文所設計的大綱理解選擇題。
˙Reading Comprehension: 文章理解的是非及選擇題,還有俚諺語選擇。
˙Language Focus: 選出最適合的單字來完成文章中句子的語法架構。
˙Picture Story: 按照順序排列的故事圖片,和同伴討論每個圖片並寫下來心得。
˙Act Out the Story: 完成對話填空,並且與同伴演出該段對話。
˙Summary: 摘要轉述一個故事,能重新排序,或填空,或替換不正確的字。
˙Expansion Questions: 運用提示的問題,圖片來延伸討論故事主題。

Reading Wise is a three-book reading series for high beginners and pre-intermediate learners of English. Each of the twenty units per book includes a variety of activities based on the main story of the unit that are sure to keep learners engaged anti active as they practice their language skills. Through story-based reading, listening, writing, and speaking activities, learners will wisely increase communicative skills in English.
