Reading through It
"Row, row row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream." This is a popular children's song that describe the joy of rowing happily down a gentle stream as you think of how wonderful life is. But the kind of rowing that goes on during the holiday I am writing about is most likely not a bit like that. Most likely you will hear the drum beat and the loud cries of an anchor person and you will see 16 or more people working hard to move that boat towards the finish like where a flag is proudly grabbed from a pole. The boats may be rowed down a river or a channel or a stream and will be brightly decorated with a dragon head in the front. What holiday am I talking about? Yes, you guessed it- the Dragon Boat Festival, the festival with the longest history.....
